You will live near the lake Åsnen, one of the largest lakes in Småland, which is known for its beautiful nature, national parks and its variation of fish. Pike, perch, pikeperch and eel can be caught here. There is a beach nearby where you can buy icecream , a playground and barbecue sites. Boats and canoes can also be hired there. There are numerous hiking trails and cycle routes around the lake with many rest areas and public barbecue sites. In the small town Urshult (10 minutes away) there is a supermarket, bakery, pizzeria and café. The towns Ryd and Tingsryd are also nearby with further shopping malls, loppis stores, restaurants and cafés. Larger towns almost one hour away are the provincial capital Växjö and the historic harbor towns of Karlshamn and Ronneby.
